Subscription Terms

Version 1.0
Effective date: 4 November 2026

1. About these terms

1.1 These Subscription Terms apply when a professional uses a paid Bookywooky plan (Standard or Pro), the free Pro trial, or beta or complimentary access, in the Bookywooky app.

1.2 They add to, and do not replace:

  • On iPhone and iPad: Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), which licenses the app to you, and Apple’s Media Services Terms, which cover how you pay Apple.
  • On Android: the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Play’s payment terms, which cover how you pay Google.
  • Our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal information.
  • For beta testers: the Beta Tester Agreement, for as long as you take part in the beta.

Which terms apply

  • If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict about the licence to use the app, the Standard EULA applies. If they conflict about your subscription to Bookywooky’s paid features, these terms apply.
  • Where Apple’s or Google’s own rules about payment, cancellation or refunds must apply, they do.
  • If you are a beta tester and these terms and the Beta Tester Agreement say different things about a paid subscription, these terms apply. If they say different things about anything else (your beta participation, free beta access and grants, feedback, leaving the beta), the Beta Tester Agreement applies. Annex A of the Beta Tester Agreement always applies to your clients’ information.
  • Nothing in these terms or the Beta Tester Agreement takes away or limits any rights you have by law that cannot be excluded or limited.

1.3 Words we use

  • “Professional”, “you”: the person who holds a Bookywooky professional account and uses it for their business.
  • “Business account”: the Bookywooky professional account for your business. Subscriptions, trials and grants belong to the business account, not to a phone or a store account. Only the owner of the business account can buy, change or restore its subscription.
  • “Client”: a person who books with a professional, or whose details a professional records, in Bookywooky. Clients do not pay Bookywooky, and these terms do not apply to them.
  • “Paid plan” or “subscription”: a Bookywooky Standard or Pro subscription bought in the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play (each a “store”). A “subscriber” is a professional whose business account has one.
  • “Paid period”: the month that a purchase or renewal has paid for.
  • “Trial”: the free Pro trial described in section 6.
  • “Grant”: free beta access or complimentary access described in section 7.
  • “UK calendar day”: a day from midnight to midnight UK time.

2. Who you are contracting with

2.1 Bookywooky is run by Adam Bujega and Suzanne Bujega, trading in partnership as Bookywooky (“Bookywooky”, “we”, “us”). Bookywooky is a partnership, not a limited company. Contact: support@bookywooky.co.uk.

2.2 Apple or Google sells you the subscription. When you subscribe in the app, you pay Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not us. They are the merchant of record: they take the payment, charge any VAT, send the receipt, and handle cancellations and refunds under their own terms. We never see your card or bank details.

2.3 We use a service provider, RevenueCat, to check your purchase with Apple or Google and to give your business account the plan it has paid for. Our Privacy Policy explains what RevenueCat receives.

3. Business use

3.1 Bookywooky’s paid plans are for professionals using the app for their own business (for example as a self-employed or salon-based hair, beauty or wellbeing professional). You must be 18 or over to subscribe.

3.2 Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law that cannot be excluded, including any rights you have as a consumer, if the law treats you as one.

4. The paid plans

4.1 There are two paid plans:

PlanWhat it includesPrice (UK)Billing
Bookywooky StandardWhat it includes: Diary and appointments, client management, working hours and locations, travel-aware scheduling, appointment-slot suggestions, rebooking tools, business insights, the client app and appointment requests, consultation cards and treatment records, and stock managementPrice (UK): £14.99 a monthBilling: Monthly, renews automatically until cancelled
Bookywooky ProWhat it includes: Everything in Standard, plus Ask Bookywooky and the other AI features (natural-language appointments, voice assistance, handwriting recognition, paper-diary import) and advanced growth assistancePrice (UK): £24.99 a monthBilling: Monthly, renews automatically until cancelled

4.2 The price you pay is the one shown by Apple or Google before you confirm the purchase. Prices include VAT where it applies. There is no permanently free plan: the free trial (section 6) and beta or complimentary access (section 7) are for a limited time unless we tell you otherwise.

4.3 Billing begins on the day you buy. When you confirm a purchase, your paid subscription starts straight away and Apple or Google charges you for the first month that day. This is so even if you are still in your free trial, or are in the last 7 days of beta or complimentary access (sections 6 and 7). The app tells you this under the purchase button before the store’s payment sheet opens, for example: “Your {Plan} subscription starts and billing begins today.”

4.4 Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews every month, and Apple or Google charges the same payment method, until you cancel it. Each renewal is for one month. The Plan & billing screen says: “Monthly plans renew automatically until cancelled.”

4.5 One subscription per business account. A subscription belongs to the business account that bought it. It cannot be moved to another Bookywooky business account, including by restoring purchases (section 9). Apple Family Sharing is not available for Bookywooky subscriptions, and a subscription cannot be shared with other people or businesses.

4.6 We do not offer store introductory offers, promotional offers, offer codes, win-back offers or store free trials. The only free trial is Bookywooky’s own (section 6).

5. Managing and cancelling your subscription

5.1 You cancel through Apple or Google, not in Bookywooky.

When you have a subscription, the app’s Plan & billing screen has a Manage subscription link to these settings and a “How to cancel” explanation.

5.2 When cancellation takes effect. Cancelling normally stops future renewal: you will not be charged again, and you keep your paid plan until the end of the paid period, unless Apple, Google or applicable law determines otherwise. Your paid plan ends at the end of that period (section 10). To avoid the next charge, cancel before your renewal date; we recommend at least 24 hours before, because the store may need time to process it. Until the paid period ends you can turn renewal back on in your Apple or Google settings.

5.3 Deleting the app or your Bookywooky account does not cancel your subscription. Apple or Google will keep charging until you cancel in their subscription settings. If you plan to delete your Bookywooky account, cancel your subscription first (see section 12).

5.4 Cancelling is not the same as a refund. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not by itself refund a payment already made. Refunds are covered in section 11.

6. The free Pro trial

6.1 What it is. A new professional business account gets a free trial of Bookywooky Pro. The trial is run by Bookywooky. It is not an Apple or Google free trial or introductory offer, and:

  • it starts when you sign up and lasts 14 days (the length we currently offer);
  • you do not give any payment details for it;
  • it does not create a paid subscription, and nothing is charged when it ends;
  • you are only charged if you choose to buy a paid plan and confirm the purchase through Apple or Google;
  • the Plan & billing screen shows the date your trial ends.

We may change the trial length we offer to new professionals. A change never shortens a trial that has already started.

6.2 One trial per business. The trial is offered once per professional business. We may refuse a further trial where an earlier one has been used, for example if an account is deleted and registered again.

6.3 The trial is one continuous period. It runs from signup to the end date shown in the app. Buying, cancelling, refunding or restoring a subscription does not pause, restart, shorten or extend it, and it never comes back after it has ended. Only Bookywooky can extend a trial, and we will tell you if we do.

6.4 Buying during the trial. You can buy a paid plan at any time during your trial. Billing starts on the day you buy (section 4.3), even though your trial has not ended, so you may pay for days your trial already covers. If you prefer, you can wait and buy when your trial has ended.

  • If you buy Pro during the trial, your Pro subscription and billing start that day, and you have Pro throughout. The app tells you before you buy: “Your Pro subscription starts and billing begins today.”
  • If you buy Standard during the trial, your Standard subscription and billing start that day, and you keep the Pro features until your trial’s original end date, then continue with Standard. The app tells you the date before you buy: “Your Standard subscription starts and billing begins today. You’ll keep Pro features until your free trial ends on {date}, then continue with Standard features.”
  • If your paid subscription ends during the trial (for example you cancel and the paid period runs out, or Apple or Google refunds it), the trial still runs to its original end date.
  • If your paid subscription ends after the trial has ended, the trial does not come back.

6.5 When the trial ends without a purchase, you are not charged and no subscription starts. Your records are kept, and what you can still use is described in section 10.

7. Beta and complimentary access

7.1 We sometimes give a professional free access to a plan, for example to beta testers (“beta access”) or as a courtesy (“complimentary access”). We call this a grant. A grant:

  • is free, needs no payment details, and never turns into a paid subscription by itself; nothing is charged when it ends;
  • gives the plan we tell you about until the last day shown on your Plan & billing screen (“through {date}”), unless it has no end date;
  • may be changed or ended by us in line with the Beta Tester Agreement (for beta testers) or with reasonable notice (for complimentary access).

7.2 When you can buy while you have a grant. If your grant has an end date, the app offers a paid plan only in the last 7 UK calendar days of your grant, counting the last day shown on your Plan & billing screen. For example, for access “through 26 November”, purchasing opens at midnight UK time at the start of 20 November. If your grant has more than 7 days left, or has no end date, the app does not offer a purchase.

7.3 Billing begins on the day you buy, and your grant continues. If you buy in those last 7 days, your paid subscription starts and Apple or Google charges you for the first month that day, even though your grant has not ended. Your grant continues until its original end date. While both are running you have the higher of the two plans; after the grant ends, you have the plan you bought. The app tells you before you buy: “Your beta access continues through {date}. Your paid subscription starts and billing begins today.” This means you may pay for up to 7 days that your grant already covers. If you prefer, you can wait and buy after your grant has ended.

7.4 When your grant ends. If you have not bought a plan, nothing is charged and no subscription starts; your records are kept, and section 10 describes what you can still use. If you have bought a plan, it simply carries on.

8. Changing plan

8.1 Upgrading from Standard to Pro takes effect straight away and replaces your Standard subscription, rather than adding a second one. Apple or Google works out any charge or credit for the rest of your current billing period under its own rules, and shows you the price before you confirm.

8.2 Downgrading from Pro to Standard takes effect at your next renewal. You keep Pro until then, and pay the Standard price from that renewal. The app tells you: “Standard starts at your next renewal ({date}). You keep Pro until then.”

8.3 You can change plan from the Plan & billing screen while your subscription is set to renew. On iPhone and iPad you can also change it in your Apple subscription settings. If you have cancelled, turn renewal back on in the store first. You cannot change plan on a different store from the one you bought on.

9. Restoring purchases

9.1 If you reinstall the app or use a new phone, use Restore purchases on the Plan & billing screen while signed in to the Bookywooky business account that bought the subscription, with the same Apple ID or Google account.

9.2 A subscription stays with the business account that bought it. Restoring it while signed in to a different Bookywooky business account does not move it to that account; the app tells you the subscription “is already linked to another Bookywooky business”.

10. When paid access ends

10.1 Paid access ends when your subscription is cancelled and the paid period runs out, when it expires because a payment fails and is not fixed in time, or when Apple or Google refunds or revokes it. Your trial or grant ends on its end date.

10.2 Payment problems. If a renewal payment fails, Apple or Google may keep trying to take payment for a period. Depending on the store and its settings, you may keep your plan for part of that time (a “grace period”). If the payment is still not fixed, your paid plan stops while the store keeps trying (on Google Play this is called an “account hold”), and your subscription ends if the payment is never fixed. The store tells you how to update your payment method.

10.3 Your records are kept. When paid access ends, we do not delete your account, diary, appointments, clients or other records.

10.4 What changes today. At present, when your trial, grant or subscription ends and you have no other paid plan, trial or grant, the Pro features (Ask Bookywooky and the other AI features, and advanced growth assistance) stop. You can, for now, continue to use the other features. This is temporary: Bookywooky has no permanently free plan, and we intend to limit such accounts to read-only access as described in 10.5.

10.5 Read-only access (when we switch it on). When we switch this on, a business account with no active subscription, trial or grant will become read-only until you subscribe again. While your account is read-only:

  • you can still see your records: sign in, and see your diary, appointments, clients and client details, history, consultation and treatment records, photos, portfolio, reviews, stock levels and booking requests;
  • you can still manage your account: buy or restore a subscription, see your plan, contact support, report a problem, change your notification settings and your name, email address and password, and delete your account at any time;
  • you can still carry out essential actions, such as cancelling an existing appointment (your client is told), declining a pending booking request, recording or correcting a client’s allergy and safety information (but not adding or changing patch-test records), recording a client’s withdrawal of photo permission, deleting a client photo, a client address or a household member’s record, taking down or deleting a portfolio post, removing a comment, and no longer featuring a review;
  • you cannot carry on ordinary new business activity: for example adding or changing appointments or clients, accepting or suggesting times for booking requests, changing your business settings, or using the paid tools and Pro features;
  • your clients cannot make new bookings or booking requests with you through Bookywooky, or accept a time you suggested. Existing appointments stay in place, your clients can still see and cancel them, and appointment reminders continue.

11. Refunds

11.1 Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, because they took your payment.

Not every cancellation results in a refund. If Apple or Google refunds a subscription payment, the paid plan that payment bought normally ends.

11.2 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including any right to a refund or other remedy that the law gives you.

12. Deleting your account while subscribed

12.1 You can delete your Bookywooky account in the app (Account management → Delete account) or as described at www.bookywooky.co.uk/delete-account.

12.2 Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple or Google subscription. Cancel it in your Apple or Google subscription settings first (section 5). If you delete your account without cancelling, Apple or Google may keep charging you, and we cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you.

12.3 After you delete your account, we keep subscription and billing records for accounting, tax and dispute purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy and on the Delete account page.

13. Price changes

13.1 We may change the price of a plan. Apple or Google will tell you before a higher price applies to you, under their rules:

  • Apple emails and notifies subscribers before an increase. For larger increases (or in places that require it) you must agree to the new price, and if you do not, your subscription ends at the end of the last period at the old price. Apple’s rules: pricing for auto-renewable subscriptions.
  • Google Play asks you to accept a higher price before it is charged (an “opt-in” increase) and cancels the subscription at the next renewal if you do not; in some cases, within Google’s limits, Google instead gives advance notice and the new price applies unless you cancel. Google’s rules: subscription price changes on Google Play.

13.2 We will also tell you about a price increase in the app or by email before it applies to you. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

14. Changes to the service and to these terms

14.1 Bookywooky is developing. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature that is a main part of your paid plan, we will tell you in advance where we can, and you can cancel (section 5).

14.2 We may update these terms. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies to you. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page.

15. Our responsibility to you

15.1 We will provide the paid features with reasonable care and skill. If we do not, you have the rights and remedies the law gives you.

15.2 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded or limited (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud), and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

16. Contact

Questions about these terms, your plan or a Google Play refund request: support@bookywooky.co.uk. In the app, use Contact support on the Plan & billing screen.

17. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland and are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
